08 September 2005 - 22:04 Peace Corps likes to have meetings. That's because it's part of the US Government. That's what they do. I'm not complaining - these meetings give me an excuse to meet up with my friends from around the country in a city where we can eat good food, go to the beach, enjoy air conditioning, and watch TV in English. Nouakchott's cool, as usual, but not nearly as cool as it was nine months ago when I first came into the capital. I'm so over this place. But it's nice seeing everyone and hanging out with them here. I guess I just don't miss AC, (expensive) restaurant food, TV, etc. all that much anymore. Now I have a few more days to hang out, then down to Kaedi to conduct a few training sessions for the new volunteers, then back to site for their posting. That's exciting. I'm turning my compost pile when I get back to site - that's even more exciting! I'm not sure, but I feel like my posts have gotten really boring lately, like there's nothing new to write about. I'll see what I can do about that...
